Modern Floor Sanders (NW) Ltd advise that the best way to keep your sanded wooden floor or parquet flooring looking its very best is to properly clean and maintain it.
Whether for commercial or domestic use, how often you need to clean and maintain your wooden or parquet floor will depend upon how it has been sealed and finished and the volume of traffic it receives.
Whilst regular cleaning can help to maintain your wooden floor's natural warmth and beauty, over time daily wear and tear will take its inevitable toll.
Eventually, your wooden floor may show signs of wear that cannot be remedied by the application of cleaning products. In order to maintain the looks and durability of your wooden floor and to avoid the cost of advanced restoration work, these areas of wear should be addressed without delay.
MFS(NW) Ltd recommend that you carry out a thorough maintenance clean and polish occasionally. This involves scradding off the floor and applying a Bona Polish which restores your floor to near showroom condition.
We are able to carry out this service dependent on the condition of the floor initially. Our representatives will advise if we are able to do this.
If your commercial or domestic wooden floor is in need of restorative maintenance, don't hesitate to get in touch with Modern Floor Sanders (NW) Ltd. - the leading wood floor specialists in the North West.
Keeping your wooden floor clean isn't difficult, but care should be taken to ensure the best results. You should only use cleaning products which have been recommended for use on wood flooring; bleach-based or abrasive cleaners will damage your wooden floor's seal and finish.
MFS (NW) supplies a range of high quality cleaning and maintenance products specifically formulated to care for your wooden floor and maintain its natural beauty. See our cleaning and maintenance products page for more information.
Armed with the correct wood floor cleaning products, cleaning your wooden floor is as easy as 1-2-3:
1. Using a soft broom, a vacuum cleaner with soft brush attachment or a dry mop, thoroughly sweep the wooden floor to remove any potentially harmful particles such as grit, soil, crumbs etc.
2. Follow the instructions on your wood floor cleaning product carefully. If dilution is required, do not use undiluted cleaner on your wooden floor. Ensure that the correct ratio of water to cleaner is observed.
3. Use an appropriate applicator (a mop, cloth or cleaning pad) that has been dampened and wrung out to apply the wood floor cleaning solution and clean one section of the floor at a time. Be sure to clean or replace the applicator as it becomes dirty.
